🚀 First Contact Anniversary + New Release!

On this day in 1996, Star Trek: First Contact premiered

—a story about humanity’s pivotal moment meeting an alien species for the first time.

Twenty-eight years later, I’m releasing a collection that explores a similar question: What if first contact happened differently than we expect?

Earth’s Secret Alliance: Vol. 1 – The Novella Collection

– drops tomorrow, featuring stories where brilliant minds choose alliance over aggression when faced with the impossible.

At the heart of these tales is General Frank Jones—a strategist unlike any you’ve encountered.

While others see threats, he sees potential. Where commanders demand surrender, he builds bridges. He uses Sherlock Holmes-like deductions to unravel mysteries others miss, and his greatest weapon isn’t firepower—it’s understanding human (and alien) nature.

In The Woundless War, Jones makes a choice that could save Earth or doom it: forming an alliance with pacifist aliens under attack, rather than treating them as invaders. His reasoning? “If they wanted to attack us, they would have. We need to focus on what we know.”

Choosing diplomacy when everyone demands war

When a mysterious craft crashes near a nuclear test site, most generals would shoot first and ask questions later. But Frank Jones sees what others miss: allied flags painted on the hull, unarmed occupants dressed like monks, and a clear plea for help rather than an act of invasion

Seeing the good in people, not just their mistakes

General Jones has a gift that sets him apart from other military leaders: he sees potential where others see failure. When two young soldiers—one Black, one Jewish—bring him an impossible story about meeting aliens, he doesn’t dismiss them. Instead, he promotes them on the spot and puts them in charge of recruitment.

Throughout his career, Jones has learned that most people only see mistakes and distance themselves accordingly. But he views mistakes as opportunities to learn and grow. This philosophy becomes crucial when building Earth’s first interstellar alliance, where trust must be earned across cultural divides that span light-years.

Making impossible decisions with incomplete information

Space warfare demands split-second choices with galactic consequences. When five enemy ships bear down on the defenseless Zalma, Jones must decide: use overwhelming technological superiority to annihilate them, or find a way to win without creating generations of enemies seeking revenge?

He has only fragmentary intelligence about the Moad’s culture, unreliable simulations, and a team of pacifist aliens who refuse to harm their attackers. Yet somehow, he must craft a battle plan that achieves victory while leaving both sides’ honor intact. It’s strategic thinking at its finest—using Sherlock Holmes-like deduction to see patterns others miss, trusting gut instincts when facts fail, and always planning three moves ahead.

Building trust across species when the stakes couldn’t be higher

The Zalmen are vegetarian pacifists who’ve never known violence. Humans eat meat and have just emerged from the deadliest war in history. The cultural chasm seems insurmountable—until a breakthrough. When the alliance nearly collapses over a misunderstanding about food, a young scientist proposes an elegant solution: cloned meat that was never alive. It’s a small compromise that opens the door to something larger. As Jones forms his team of warriors, diplomats, and scientists for humanity’s first interstellar journey, he discovers that building trust isn’t about erasing differences—it’s about finding common ground while respecting what makes each species unique. The future of two worlds depends on getting it right.

If you love first contact stories that challenge assumptions, strategic minds that outthink brute force, and characters who prove that wisdom beats firepower—this collection is for you.

“The bad guys waste their time arguing with each other, fighting for control. We are stronger than them when we work together!” —General Frank Jones
