Frequently Asked Questions
Who are your favorite authors?
Do you prefer paper books or an electronic format? Why?
I’m answering these questions starting with the last “Why?” I’m a little dyslexic, so I perefer audiobooks. My first 3 novellas have audiobooks, dyslexic and large print editions; and I will probably do them again for the recent work.
With dyslexia and chronic fatigue, I don’t have a lot of time to read. When I was younger I read Arthur C. Clarke, and a few Star Trek novels.
Where did the idea for your book come from?
Watching all the racism and war on the news, I knew I had to write my story.
“Humanity will reach maturity and wisdom on the day that it begins not just to tolerate, but take a special delight in differences in ideas and differences in life forms.” – Gene Roddenberry
“Differences are something to be celebrated, not feared.” —Tony B. Richard
The original idea was for a spinoff Stargate series, but the more I thought about it, the more I realized it had to be it’s own franchise.
Also, I was disappointed with the lack of uplifting Star Trek. It is my understanding that Gene Roddenberry wanted to show a positive future, and that wasn’t happening. So, I felt like I had to honor him. If “Strange New Worlds” was out, I might not have started.
Then I saw “For All Mankind” on Apple TV+ and I knew I had to start my series at the beginning, in Roswell. From there, the story just flowed.
